My company was retained to evaluate a proprietary Life Safety system that was throughout a property just purchased by our client.

The property was a former hospital. The building was roughly one million square feet in size.

After our report was issued to the building owner, they decided to retain Global Security Management Group (GSMG Inc.) to remove every piece of existing life safety equipment from the building and contracted GSMG Inc. to install a new “non-proprietary” system per our design.

The calculations came in and at the end of the first year, the building owner said he saved at least 300K in services and maintenance fees.

This allows the building owner to put future service work or expansion projects out for a competitive bid process and not rely on one or two companies for inflated quotes.

I was told that the new system paid for itself in two years, including the “Mass-Notification” system we added on. We used the same process for their access control and camera systems.
